Using the Contractor Compliance System, the Contractor Prequalification Application process takes minimal time. After submitting your account registration, you will automatically be logged into the system and directed to complete our Prequalification Application.
Prior to accessing the Contractor Prequalification online application, you will be required to obtain a Vendor Number from the Office of Procurement Management Services (OPMS). The OPMS registration form can be found by clicking on the following link and following the instructions for submission.
Any construction company that proposes to work for the District as a prime contractor on capital or maintenance construction projects must adhere to the following:
The company must complete the online application to formalize the overall relationship between the District and the contractor.
FINANCIAL CAPACITY: Projects over $200K MUST have 100% performance and payment security by the A.M. Best Rated Surety firm (A- or better) listed on the Surety of Intent form.
OR
Projects $200K or less require an AUDITED financial statement (within the last 12 months).
EXPERIENCE: Contractors must, at a minimum, provide documented verification of having completed at least two projects of similar scope, and financial size, within the past five (5) years preceding the date of the application.
CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION: Required to establish that the company has met the criteria to do business in the State of Florida. Must have an “Active” status with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations.
DUE DILIGENCE REVIEW: (Liens, judgments, litigation, financial checks, etc.): Disclosure of Litigation Letter is required. Designed as a quality assurance methodology of determining that the individual contracting company has the appropriate business history to fulfill the terms of their construction agreement with the District.
The Contractor Prequalification term is for a period of one (1) year. Failure to renew your Prequalification status prior to its expiration date will result in the company having to submit a new online application.
